2.1 Account information (only if you create an account)

• Email address: to send you login links and to contact you about your account and your content.
• Username and display name: shown publicly on your profile and your games.

2.2 Content you upload

• Game files, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, and links. They are public once you publish them.

2.3 Hashed IP addresses

• When you upload a game or send a report, we store a hashed form of your IP address (not the address itself) to limit spam and abuse.

2.4 Reports

• The reason, the details you write, and the reported game. If you are logged in, the report is also linked to your account.

2.5 Usage statistics

• Play counts and link click counts for each game. These are numbers only; they do not record who played or clicked. Uploaders can see the numbers for their own games.
• Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views, referrers, and countries/regions as aggregated data, without cookies.

2.6 Data stored in your browser

We use cookies and your browser's local storage. The following are needed for features you use:

• Login cookies (set through our authentication provider, Supabase): to keep you logged in. They are only set when you log in.
• Theme setting: saved only when you switch between light and dark.
• Your answer to the storage question below.

The following are saved only if you allow it. We ask with a banner at the bottom of the page the first time you visit:

• Games you have played: to show games you haven't played yet first.
• Games and links you have already been counted for: so that the same browser is not counted twice.

If you don't allow it, we don't save or read these records. Plays and clicks are still counted, but we only remember them while the page is open, so the same game may be counted again on a later visit. You can change your choice at any time with "Storage settings" at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your permission, we delete the saved records.

These records stay in your browser and are not sent to our servers. You can also delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

2.7 Server logs

• Our hosting providers may automatically record technical information, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and operation.

2.8 The games themselves

Games are made by third-party developers and run in your browser from a separate domain. Our Upload Guidelines do not allow games to collect players' personal data. Data a game saves in your browser (such as save data) is handled by the game itself.

For users in the EU and UK, these are the legal bases we rely on:

• Providing your account and hosting your content (email address, profile, uploaded content): to perform our contract with you (the Terms of Service).
• Preventing spam and abuse and keeping the Service secure (hashed IP addresses, server logs): our legitimate interest in keeping plel safe.
• Handling reports and moderating content: our legitimate interest in keeping plel safe, and legal obligations where they apply.
• Usage statistics (play and click counts, Vercel Web Analytics): our legitimate interest in understanding how plel is used and giving uploaders useful numbers.
• Saving the optional records in your browser (see 2.6): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We use the following providers, which process some of the data above on our behalf:

• Supabase, Inc.: authentication and database (Tokyo region, Japan)
• Vercel, Inc.: website hosting and analytics (United States and other locations)
• Cloudflare, Inc.: storing and delivering game files and images (global network)
• Resend, Inc.: sending login emails (United States)

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with anyone else, except where required by law.

Your data may be processed in Japan, the United States, and other countries. Japan is recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. For transfers to other countries, our providers rely on legal safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Account information: until your account is deleted.
• Uploaded content: until you delete it or your account is deleted.
• Hashed IP addresses: as long as the related game or report is kept.
• Reports: as long as needed to handle the report and keep a record of our moderation decisions.
• Usage statistics: as long as the related game exists.
• Data stored in your browser: until you clear it.

Depending on where you live (including the EU, the UK, and Japan), you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct it;
• delete it;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive it in a portable format.

To use these rights, email us at mattaria360@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

• Games: you can delete them at any time from each game's edit page.
• Your account and all related data: email us at mattaria360@gmail.com from the email address you use for your account, so we can confirm it's you.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access, and storing IP addresses only in hashed form. No method is completely secure, however.

You must be at least 13 to use plel and at least 16 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will announce important changes on the Service.
