Terms of Service

plel is a place to discover games worth buying. It hosts browser-playable demos of games that are for sale or coming soon, so that players can try them and find their next game.

1. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
2. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or upload content.
3. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Uploading games requires an account, which you create with your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity under your plel account.

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

1. You keep all rights you have in the content you upload (games, images, text, links, and so on).
2. You confirm that you own your content or have all the rights and permissions needed to upload it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright, trademark, publicity, and privacy rights.
3. You are responsible for your content and for any claims arising from it.
4. You grant plel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, and distribute your content on the Service, and to make the technical changes needed to do so (for example, unpacking your ZIP file).
5. You also allow plel to use your game's title, thumbnail, and description to promote plel and your game, for example on plel's social media accounts.
6. These licenses end when you delete your content or your account. Promotional posts that were already published may remain, and copies may remain in backups for a limited time.

Uploads must follow the Upload Guidelines, including the rule that every game must be a demo of a product that is for sale or coming soon.

You must not:

1. break any law or regulation, or encourage others to do so;
2. engage in or facilitate criminal activity;
3. infringe the copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights of others;
4. defame, harass, or threaten others, or post discriminatory content;
5. upload content with excessive violence or sexual content, or any content that sexualizes minors;
6. upload malware, viruses, or malicious scripts, or games that collect players' personal data;
7. attempt to gain unauthorized access to, attack, or disrupt plel or any other system or service;
8. interfere with the operation of the Service, for example by mass uploading or by manipulating play or click counts;
9. impersonate others or post false information;
10. do anything else we reasonably consider inappropriate.

You represent that you are not a member of, and are not associated with, an organized crime group or any other anti-social force. If we find otherwise, we may suspend or delete your account without notice.

1. Anyone can report content with the "Report this game" link on each game page. No account is needed. Reports are reviewed by a person; we do not use automated moderation.
2. We may remove, unpublish, or otherwise restrict content without prior notice if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, the Upload Guidelines, or the law, based on a report or our own review.
3. When we remove or restrict your content, we will email you the reasons and tell you how to contest the decision, unless the law prevents us from doing so or the content is clearly spam.
4. If you think we made a mistake, reply to that email or contact us. We will review the decision again.

1. If you violate these Terms, we may suspend or delete your account. Where appropriate, we will tell you why.
2. You can delete your games at any time from each game's edit page. To delete your account, contact us at the address below.

1. We may suspend all or part of the Service without notice for maintenance or updates, because of events beyond our control (such as natural disasters, power outages, or network failures), or for other unavoidable reasons.
2. We may end all or part of the Service for any reason by announcing it on the Service in advance.
3. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages caused by such interruptions or by the end of the Service.

1. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that it will be available, free of errors, accurate, or useful.
2. Data on the Service may be lost. Please keep your own copies of your content.
3. Games and other content on the Service are uploaded by third-party developers. We make no guarantees about their content, quality, safety, legality, or accuracy. You play and use them at your own risk.
4. We are not responsible for external websites or services linked from games or game pages. Please decide for yourself whether to use them.
5. Disputes about uploaded content between you and an uploader, or between you and a third party, are to be resolved between the parties involved.
6. Some games may contain flashing lights or rapidly changing images. If you have a history of photosensitive seizures, please take care.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This does not limit our liability for damages caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection laws.

1. We may change these Terms when needed.
2. We will announce changes on the Service before they take effect, along with the date they take effect.
3. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

You may not transfer, lend, or pledge your position or your rights and obligations under these Terms to anyone else without our prior written consent.

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest of these Terms remains in full effect.

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
• The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes relating to the Service.
• If you are a consumer, these Terms do not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.
